I worked with Barbara for six months on the development and delivery of a Cedar Foundation capacity building programme. Called Connexions, it aimed to enable disabled men and women to take the lead in developing their own social networks. Barbara delivered the programme to two groups of people in Newry and Dundalk. In my view, Barbara is a real professional in the best sense of the word. She is well organised and prepared and focuses her attention on the individuals in the group she is working with. She is really good at connecting with people and supporting and challenging them to develop and achieve. She models her commitment to equality and combines this with humour and an easy manner which encourages growth and learning. I have great respect for her intellect and skills and hope to get more opportunities to work with her.

The training sessions were really excellent. They were carried out very professionally but always contained an element of fun. I felt Barbara really connected with the participants and they saw her as an excellent role model. The parts of the sessions that worked really well were when the participants were actively involved learning from each other solving problems and working as a team.

After hunting across the Internet for a seller of Nuance TALKS, I found Creative Eyes, one of the best companies available to the blind and visually impaired communities I believe I have found so far.
